Comfortech Idol is an annual competition between HVAC Residential and Light Commercial Replacement Sales Professionals, held at HVAC Comfortech. Comfortech Idol is a serious competition among serious, trained HVAC sales professionals. It's not for the feint-of-heart. It's not for people who think that salesmanship is snappy answers and telling jokes. Comfortech Idol is not a joke. Come watch Comfortech Idol if you want to see real HVAC sales professionals show their best objection-handling techniques. Why is it called Comfortech Idol? The competition is loosely based on the popular hit television show, "American Idol." Three finalists, who made it past the "Elimination Rounds" (see "How are the 'finalists selected' below), will role-play in front of a live audience of hundreds of HVAC professionals. Like the popular television program, the judges do not actually vote or determine the winner. The live audience votes on the contestant they believe best exemplifies the highest standards in HVAC replacement sales. How are the "finalists" selected? You qualify for the finals by winning an "Elimination Round." There will are "Elimination Rounds" to choose from. You need not compete in both. The "Elimination Rounds" are open to the public and other contestants. Elimination Round 1: Seminar Session IV, Thursday, September 27, 4:45-6:15 pm, Room 225 Elimination Round 2: Seminar Session V, Friday, September 28, 4:00-5:30 pm, Room 225. Note: If you pre-register by calling 1-800-963-HVAC (4822) or completing our online entry form, you'll receive "Comfortech Idols on DVD," a DVD consisting of Charlie Greer interviews with Comfortech Idol 2003, Jamie Gerdsen and Comfortech Idol 2004, Michael Youngs, absolutely free of charge. Exactly when and where are the "Finals"? Seminar Session VII, Saturday, September 29, 10:15-11:45 am, Room 225. There is absolutely no charge to enter or watch Comfortech Idol 2007, however, you must purchase a full admission and attend HVAC Comfortech 2007 to participate. Anyone actively involved in the direct selling of residential and light commercial HVAC replacement equipment. You must register for HVAC Comfortech 2007 to enter Comfortech Idol.
